| | Harassment From Collection Agency | Type of testimonial: Legal Care Plan | I just had an irritating run-in with a local collection agency.
One day I received a fax from this agency, handwritten with an unreadable signature, where they informed me that I owed $120 to CANTEL. Please pay within 7 days or else. This was for a unpaid bill 4 years back. When they made their first call I informed them that I could not remember if this had been paid, however please send me the invoice and I will look into the matter. No sorry, they said, they didn't have the invoice, apparently CANTEL had lost the records. I told them to get me the invoice and hung up.
For the next 3 months 4 different persons called every week. Finally I had enough of that and called PPL and explained the situation. 3 hours later one of my lawyers called back and informed me about my rights. That I don't have to pay a penny without documentation and if I do decide to pay, do so with a check and most important, in writing, ask for a (release) and keep a copy. Most satisfying, the lawyer asked many times if I needed more help, I am the one that hung up.
Now the fun starts. The next call the agency made I was prepared, and I asked again if they had an invoice, no sorry. I said, I talked to one of my lawyers and was informed that I don't have to pay you one penny without documentation, and this is my last word in this case, bye bye.
Lo and behold, two days later, in the mail from the agency, I had a copy of the invoice for $52, the balance of $70 was for fees, thats why they could not find the invoice. What a sneaky way to do this.
As I had never received this invoice, $ 52 was paid and a release was received 3 days later. A small amount but a very satisfying victory, thanks to PPL.

 | | Lawyer's advice nets $60,000 settlement | Type of testimonial: Legal Care Plan | After over 11 years, my "dream" job turned into a nightmare. My boss called me into his office
to tell me that another employee would be heading up the million dollar project I had started
and run for over a year and I would be reporting to her.
I told my boss that this was a demotion but he assured me that everything - my salary and
work - would be the same. But it wasn't.
At the time I didn't even think of calling a lawyer. I thought that this was an employment
problem not a legal issue. I tried to work with my new boss for over 2 years but the stress
of being ignored and undervalued, forced me to consider quitting.
I was told that my only recourse was to quit. This was simply not an option for me. I didn't
know who I could turn to for advice until I remembered that I had a Pre-Paid Legal plan.
I called the Pre-Paid Legal lawyer and he told me that what had happened to me was called
"constructive dismissal." They continued to pay me but they had taken my job! What had
happened to me wasn't just bad...it was illegal!
Armed with this information I was able to negotiate a severence package and I was able to
start my own business. My Pre-Paid Legal plan paid for itself 200 times over...I will never
be without it.
As I found out, if you don't know your rights, you don't have any!

 | | Phone Service Restored "TODAY" | Type of testimonial: Legal Care Plan | We had a real heavy snow storm last night and this morning our internet service and phones were not working.
(They are provided together by Comcast.) I called Comcast and they were unable to fix it remotely and said a Technician would need to come over, but can't get one out until the next day during some time block.
I mentioned we have two small children in the house and while I didn't mind that the internet service be down, I wanted them out today to fix the phone in case any emergency were to happen. Of course they said no and while they offered to start an "Escalation Ticket" to see if anybody could come today, her voice didn't even sound convincing that it would be any good. I just accepted it and recorded my ticket number because I knew I was going to be on the phone with my attorney about this the moment I hung up.
The attorney called me back in moments, got my information and moments later called again saying Comcast is coming later today to fix it!! Seriously, it was that fast.
My wife asked what the Attorney said to get that changed and I said, who cares, it just proves that when an Attorney is requesting the exact same thing instead of you, things get done!
Being a member allowed me to know I wouldn't be stressed out by this and that I can have someone else go to bat for me and handle it....we're Pre Paid Legal for life!

 | | Faulty Eye Exam | Type of testimonial: Legal Care Plan | My wife recently had her eyes checked at an optometrist in our local area. All went well and she took the prescription to store where you get the lens and frames done. She received a call when they were ready, and went to pick them up. Unfortunately, the lens were so strong, she almost lost her balance and felt extremely dizzy.
The people at the lens and frame store offered to re-check her eyes to double check the prescription
….. it was less than half the original !!
Since the service as well hadn’t been so great, and the prescription was way out, I decided to call our PPL lawyers to see how to proceed here. I wanted a full refund of the $85.00 for the original exam.
My lawyer drafted a demand letter on our behalf, and the results were very rapid !
We received a great apology and a check for the full amount from the optometrist !
Thank You Pre-Paid Legal !

 | | Winning a settlement saving a home | Type of testimonial: Legal Care Plan | I would like to share with you something that has been very stressful for my wife and me for over 11 years.
My wife Gladys and I had to take action in regards to a real estate lawsuit. We had to start this action to protect
our home and financial future. Many times all I could do was to pray and ask the Lord to help us through this
very difficult time. I worked many weekends for years to help pay for the extra cost because of this litigation
action. Over the last two months I felt I needed to talk with someone because I did not feel I could go on for
very much longer emotionally.
Then the thought came to me I have PPL legal to turn too. I called our Ontario Provider Law Firm twice to ask for help and the
advice I received saved the day. I decided I must act on their advice which turned out to not only to help bring
my litigation to an end but much faster. My wife and I will be able to sign all the papers to bring this to an end
next week. We have now won and the settlement is one we can live with and begin to move on with our lives.
I have shared my story with a few of you and how the stress level has been overwhelming for my wife and I.
Thanks to PPL and my lawyer here in Hamilton Ontario for a job well done. Now I can share a
real life events story of my own with my prospects. I can share with them how my membership has saved us
thousands of dollars. We have an awesome company and product to offer the public that really does pay off.
Thanks, for letting me share my story with you my PPL family.

 | | Refund for dirt bike | Type of testimonial: Legal Care Plan | I recently told you of a problem I was having over a dirt bike with [a local store] and Baja Motorsports and
how I was basically getting the royal runaround and had been told that they would not repair or refund my
money. I contacted and was dealing with A.A. at our British Columbia Provider Law Firm.
You asked that I let you know the outcome, well the other day I got a call from Baja Motorsports in Arizona
wanting to arrange a full refund for me. So I was able to go to [local store] that same day & got a credit to
my MasterCard for $911.00 which was just the best news. I never would have got that money back without
the demand letter that my PPL lawyer wrote.
My membership sure paid for itself in a big way! What a personal testimonial I will have to tell prospective
members which no amount of money could buy. So I just wanted to share my good news with you.

 | | The Thousand Dllars Cheeseburger | Type of testimonial: Legal Care Plan | The family tradition continued on that fateful Friday evening in August 2005. I had picked up my daughter from daycare and we were on our way to our mother/daughter evening out. Shopping was the order of the evening to be followed by dinner.
We entered the department store and after just a few moments my daughter, having noticed the restaurant inside the store decided she was hungry NOW. As any mother would, we walked over to the restaurant and placed our order.
Our meal finally arrived and being too busy trying to get food into a child who is now not so hungry anymore but rather more interested in playing, I was not paying much attention to my own food. After consuming three bites of my cheeseburger, I noticed that the taste was not all together what it should be. Upon inspection I noticed the problem. Now if you like your meat rare that that’s one thing, but a rare cheeseburger, no!!
I called the waitress over and she immediately exclaimed “Oh my God, it’s not cooked”. She quickly took the plate away, came back to offer me a free meal and reassuring me that this has never happened before. This polite offer was refused but then re-offered by the food service manager, again refused. Needless to say, I was sickened by the whole thing and later on during the night became very ill with food poisoning and, well, you know what happens (no need to go into explanations), needless to say I was up all night being sick and was unable to seek medical attention because of that time of night and being a single parent and therefore unable to have someone watch my child.
The next day, bright and early I sought medical attention where tests were done, which thankfully came back negative because I was able to expel everything the night before. Shortly thereafter, a representative from the establishment contacted me to find out what they could do for me and they suggested that they would give me 10% off my next purchase (let’s do the math here, spend my own money plus a sales tax of 15% to save 10%, doesn’t make sense to me) or again with the free meal offer - not that I would eat there again!!!! I was extremely insulted after the pain and suffering I had endured, and refused the offer, but at the same time felt helpless to further address this incident.
Then salvation came my way in the form of an introduction to PPL in October 2005, and I was overjoyed, because I knew that with the services offered by PPL it provided me with the recourse to address the incident. That's the beauty of this service - it covers pre-existing issues that you may have felt that you were unjustly treated and WISHED that you had legal recourse.
Well, here was a solution to a problem in which I felt that I was being insulted and railroaded by CORPORATE CANADA. I seized this AMAZING opportunity and made good use of this service by contacting the Provider Law Firm who sent out a letter on my behalf. Upon receipt of the letter, the establishment contacted me to find out whether or not I had retained counsel, to which I advised that I had not done so as yet. They wanted to handle this matter without “getting the lawyers involved” and then requested my medical records regarding the food poisoning incident. They made an offer to settle of $750, to which I advised then that I would not accept anything under $1,000. They quickly accepted that figure and advised me that they would forward a release for my signature.
This settlement has already paid for three years of my PPL membership. Once again, a small monthly payment has yielded a great reward and reinforces the POWER OF PPL, an indispensable service for the 21st Century.
Thanks PPL

 | | Insurance trying to avoid payment | Type of testimonial: Legal Care Plan | I was told over a year ago that I had a severe case of sleep apnea which required the use of a CPAP machine to help me breathe while sleeping. I received a demo machine from a local provider for a 2 month period while waiting for the insurance claim to go through to purchase the equipment.
The insurance company required that I give them a letter from a specialist (which I provided) and go through a sleep test at the hospital, which in my area has about one year waiting list. Nine months went by with no improvement on the issue and I was about to switch job, meaning that my insurance coverage would have been terminated. Since procuring the machine happened 9 months earlier, the new insurance company would say that this is not covered by them as well.
I made a call to my provider law firm and they told me that in order for them to have proper legal ammos to assist me, I first needed to send a registered letter to the insurance company. They provided me with the exact wording to use which stated that on the advice of my lawyer, they should show me where was it stated in their Employee Group Insurance Benefits Manual that I required a hospital test for Sleep Apnea and that failure to do so would result in referring this claim to my lawfirm.
I did exactly as told and two weeks later, instead of a detailed response, I received a cheque for $2000 with no question asked. Thank you very much to my provder lawfirm for their fantastic help on this matter.

 | | Fedex delivery issue | Type of testimonial: Legal Care Plan | I had ordered some computer memory from a reputable source I had ordered from before. They shipped
it FedEx and it never arrived, even though the online tracking information said it had. A quick call to both
the company and FedEx quickly got me nowhere, but each had a different tone. The product company
was decidedly more helpful and willing to resend after FedEx's investigation. FedEx, was rude, never
contacted me as promised and refused to even give me an address for my Attorney's correspondence.
Later, a neighbor delivered the package that was delivered to them by mistake. The product company
was already resending, but I had called in time to cancel and not waste their efforts. FedEx was still to
be heard from.
I updated my Attorney. She asked how I wanted to proceed. She suggested we could at least demand
an apology from FedEx for the quality of their service. I agreed, knowing it wouldn't cost me anything
to do so, and you never know what could come from it.
Yesterday, I received a formal written apology, assurance that investigations are under way regarding
all their personnel involved and any appropriate action needed, and $40 worth in certificates towards
my next shipping!!
While some might not consider it terribly much….I still have $40.00 worth of free shipping available to
me that I didn't have before! Maybe I can use it on my long distance packages and build my team!
Just another example of no longer having to feel helpless even when you know you are right!

 | | Contract review | Type of testimonial: Legal Care Plan | Before signing a contract with an on-line advertiser I sent the contract to the Alberta provider law firm. The lawyer called me back in a couple of days and explained that although the contract looked to be in order, he had some reservations about the 10 day cancellation provision. The contract stated that even if I cancelled within the 10 days I would still be liable for a $ 200 cancellation fee for on-line set up work the advertiser would have to do before the start of the advertising. Since the contract was drawn up in the province of New Brunswick he wanted to do further research. The lawyer called me back a day later and informed me that what the advertiser was doing in the contract was in violation of the 10 day right to cancel provision laws of both Alberta and New Brunswick. I contacted the advertiser and told them what my lawyer had told me and they agreed to remove the cancellation fee. I then proceeded with signing the contract having huge peace of mind knowing that my best interests were being served.

 | | Laptop issue | Type of testimonial: Legal Care Plan | Hello my name is Ellen Manning and I live in Lakeland Florida. I was having a real problem when I purchased a laptop that did not work. I discovered I needed some help getting through to the reseller that sold me the equipment. These people refused to give me help so I called my lawyer and I was able to get the problem resolved ASAP with me receiving a new laptop that was worth more then the one I purchased. This was the best thing ever as far as law and order goes.

 | | Canada Post problem | Type of testimonial: Legal Care Plan | After noticing that my mail was not being forwarded to my new address on March 25th of 2008, after having paid $38.85 on Feb. 21st, to have it redirected for the next 6 months, I contacted the postal outlet where I had paid for the change of address. After some phone calls to the respective depots, the very helpful clerk told me that 17 pieces of mail had been forwarded from depot 6 to depot 2, which is where my mail carrier now sorts my mail. I had not received any of the 17 pieces of mail, including my T4s, utility bills, a parcel from the U.S. that I had paid $138.00 for, my car insurance pink slip, etc. To make a long story short, after waiting another month - still not receiving any of those 17 pieces of mail that supposedly had been sent to my new area, depot, I made 3 or 4 calls to the depot and was given the old " your carrier delivers everything that comes for you, routine", I decided to call my provider law firm. The lawyer wrote Canada Post a strongly, worded letter, even hinting at possible legal action if the matter was not rectified promptly. Within three weeks I received a letter of apology from Canada Post, as well as a cheque for$38.85 to reimburse me for the change of address fee. My mail (for the most part) now seems to be coming to my new address, but where those other 17 pieces of mail have ended up is anyone's guess and although, not totally resolved to my satisfaction, I at least didn't have to pay for Canada Post's incompetence.

 | | Child Molestation Accusations | Type of testimonial: Legal Care Plan | Hi, my name is Fabian Pahl and for the last 10 years there has been child welfare services in my life. They have been in and out of the picture because of my 16 yr old son, who has Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder or FASD. In February of 2008, my son was accused of molesting my 4 year old daughter. Child Welfare, instead of apprehending my son went to apprehend my daughter.
I immediately called the 24 hr service and the lawyer was able to stop the apprehension order, on the spot. The next morning, I called the law firm again to get their advice as to what to do next. I went down to the police station to answer questions to the investigating officers. About 20 minutes after I arrived at the police station, the same lawyer from the night before called me on my cell #. Mr Gand, the lawyer told me to answer the questions honestly to the officer. He then directed me to ask the desk officer for the phone # of the Police Captain, the investigating officer, the emergency services child welfare worker and the director of Child welfare in Lethbridge. After I got the #'s for him I was called to ask my questions.
This is a tough situation for any parent to endure, let alone deal with. I am extremely happy to say that 72 hours after the investigation started, the police and child welfare apologized and dropped all accusations and pending charges. I know with all my heart that this is the doing of our incredible legal teams supplied by PrePaid Legal services. I will never go without our Prepaid Legal membership, ever. Thank you from the depths of my heart and soul.

 | | Digital Camera for my son | Type of testimonial: Legal Care Plan | I just wanted to share with everyone my first "real" experience of using our PPL membership in a case where "most people would just sweep it under the rug and accept that there is nothing they can do, even though they were right"...or "who is going to hire a lawyer at maybe hundreds of dollars an hour over such a small thing?"...
My son Jayden (3yrs old) always wants to see Daddy's digital camera whenever I'm using it, so I would humor him and let him snap the shot and watch as he anxiously awaits to see the picture he just took on the screen.
I thought, maybe I'll get him his own camera. Nowadays, there are kid's digital cameras, and for his purposes needn't be high powered. I had my eye on a Disney Cars version of one, but it cost $50. I thought it a bit much for what could turn out to be a toy to him at his age, but when I saw that exact camera on sale at Target for $17.99, I jumped at it and went to get it.
Upon trying to purchase it, the store Manager clarified that the description was for a lesser priced camera and the picture of the camera (the one I wanted), while different from the description was not the one on sale. I tried to no avail to have her honor the pricing in their advertising error. I had them hold it while I had "my attorney" address this the next day.
I called, spoke with an attorney, she agreed and wrote and sent a letter on my behalf. I followed up as instructed and got a message last night from the Manager saying that upon further research, he agreed that there was indeed a misprint and that Target had not issued an addendum to it. He apologized for the inconvenience and not only wanted to honor the pricing, but to in fact "comp" the item for me!!
I picked it up while at lunch and can't wait to show it to Jayden tonight!! The receipt showed over $54 in value with tax that I paid absolutely nothing for!!
Please use this as a story that you can share to demonstrate situations that we don't normally deem legal, because of the cost, yet with our Memberships can now address, and get results, over what is important to us...even an $18 camera for a little boy.

 | | Power of a Letter | Type of testimonial: Legal Care Plan | Recently, my husband had our provider law firm write a letter for him, regarding a long standing ex-spousal support issue. Due to an unfortunate oversight in his original divorce agreement years ago, the spousal support order did not have an "end date".
The child support order, which ended, as is typical, when my step-son turned 18 did. Because my step-son, as is the norm nowadays, did not leave his mother's home (which she shares with her common-law spouse of at least 20 years, by the way) upon turning of age...... and due to a serious illness on her part, my husband did not contest continuing the monthly spousal support for the first couple of years.
Basically because he's a nice guy, he thought it was fair to help out for a while. Unfortunately, his ex-spouse has never demonstrated a similar regard to her child's father, other than regarding him as a "wallet". Four years later, despite trying to reach a reasonable end to these payments, the spousal support was still being enforced and, according to the previous law firm my husband had consulted with, would remain enforced until he retained legal counsel, starting with a $2,000 retainer.
However, upon recently using our Pre-Paid Legal membership and having our lawyer write an incredibly forceful and empowering letter (which cost us absolutely nothing outside of our monthly membership) to his ex-spouse, my husband received notice (within 1 hour of receiving his copy of the letter!),from his ex, informing him that she would be arranging to sign the attached Consent Variation Order, witnessed by the commissioner of oaths, along with the Affidavit of Execution, also attached........and that, "if you don't receive everything by the 14 day deadline, please don't take this any further as it will definitely be on it's way".
This (in total 7 page!) letter, did for us, in one instant, what years and years of trying to deal fairly and reasonably with this woman never did.
Every issue, be it a school or sporting event, every holiday, every single issue throughout the years regarding access to my husband's son, to trying to stop the alienation of affection being constantly practised, was a huge, never-ending tug-of-war. I just wish we had had this membership years ago; I'm convinced that the pain my husband (and his son) had to go through could have been avoided.
Thank you so much, Pre-Paid Legal, our family won't ever be without this membership.

 | | Cordless Telephone | Type of testimonial: Legal Care Plan | I have purchased a cordless telephone from a local business place, after using the telephone for nearly one year, I was having difficulty, hearing some one on the phone. I took the telephone back ,without my receipt,as i was unable to find it.I was told by one of the managers, that they could not exchange it without proof of purchase. I went back to the store three times, without success.
Then I decided to call my attorney, who wrote a letter on my behalf to the manager. I was called into the store to come and pick out a telephone. I got my telephone and this time no questions asked.
I just want to thank our provider law firm for the excellent service that they are providing. I would not have received a new telephone for $69.00, If I didn't have my Prepaid Legal membership.

 | | Issue with Professional Dog Breeder | Type of testimonial: Legal Care Plan | I purchased a purebred Rhodesian Ridgeback dog from a professional dog breeder. The dog ended up having a life threatening genetic defect that the breeder is suppose to screen for, as per their code of ethics. Also, as per their code of ethics it says the cost of the operation is the breeders responsibility regardless of when it is found. The breeder refused to pay for the operation that cost $740.55. I contacted the provider firm, they reviewed some documents and wrote a letter on my behalf. The end result was that I received the money owed to me.

 | | Membership is worth more than I paid! | Type of testimonial: Legal Care Plan | Dave and I became members in March of this year and have used the membership on two occasions already, with great success!
Our Will kits took approx. three hours to fill in and were sent out on a Friday. Wednesday of the following week we received a call from the Law Firm stating the draft would be out to us shortly. The Drafts actually showed up in our mail box the following Tuesday. We were very impressed with the expediency of the process.
When signing the final documents our lawyer was more than pleasant to deal with on this matter, as well as very informative.
The second occasion we had reason to use a lawyer was when we required a title registration on our home for a home equity line of credit. Normally this would have cost us almost twice as much as it did thanks to Pre-Paid Legal. We signed the documents with a different lawyer but he was also very friendly, yet professional.
Looking forward to many more years of savings with a law firm we trust, thanks to pre-paid legal!

 | | Travel Insurance wouldn't pay... | Type of testimonial: Legal Care Plan | I was in Australia last year, and my wallet was stolen. Promply I followed all of the procedures I was aware of in filing a claim with my travel insurance company, which covered for loss of stolen property and cash.
When I filed the claim, they responded by saying I had no receipt to prove the wallet's worth; and that the police report I had didn't say I actually carried cash in the wallet. (Where else would I carry cash?)
So, I phoned our provider law firm for advice, and one of our lawyers recommended that she write a letter. I was impressed with her letter.
A couple of weeks I got not merely a response from this travel insurance company, but a letter from their parent company in Ontario! Including a full cheque, no admission of guilt, and a "Thank you for allowing us to serve you".
Pre-Paid Legal has saved our family many thousands of dollars, we will always have it!
